Summary of Qualifications

Goshiro YAMAMOTO is a research fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science who will finish his Ph.D. thesis in March 2009. His major interests are in Human-Computer Interaction, Virtual Reality Technologies, and Computer Graphics/Vision systems. One of his research topics is designing Human-Computer Interaction using wearable computing with two core technologies; These are Projection-Based Mixed Reality and Computer Vision. Another topic is creating a novel Shadow Interface which enable users to interact with distant objects by using shadow metaphor. He also had studied on applying modern control theory to the speed control of an elevator door.
